City of Lampasas Press Release: Tree Removal

City of Lampasas
23 August 2017
8:00 a.m.

As part of the City’s current efforts to eliminate unsafe and diseased trees on City property at W.M. Brook Park, Hancock Park and City Hall, our tree contractors identified on oak tree, in front of City Hall, that was infested with fungus and showed signs of possible collapse. The oak had been previously treated for disease by a certified contractor. The City sought a second opinion, which validated that the tree should be removed.

Our staff, elected officials and the community as a whole, take great pride in our trees and park system; and the City does not take this decision lightly, however; in the interest of public safety, the tree will be removed as soon as it can be scheduled.

For additional information please contact Finley deGraffenried, City Manager, 512-734-6375; or Chris Eicher, Parks Director, 512-734-0228.
